Game is all talk until we activate it through our physicality, character and location. That is where the real fun begins, allowing us to make new, interesting and surprising moves.

In this workshop with Amanda Breen, UCB’s Training Center Director and former Director of Improv, we’ll explore how to activate Game in your scenes and use resting as a tool to discover fresh ways to play, rather than simply repeating the same behavior over and over. We’ll dig into how physicality, character, and environment can transform your Game, keep you out of your head, and help you heighten organically, keeping your scenes surprising and alive.

Pre-Req: Two levels at any improv theater, understanding of game

Amanda Breen

Amanda Breen (AB) is an improviser and writer who wears many hats, literally and figuratively.  AB is the Training Center Director for UCB and the former Director of Improv. They teach improv at UCB NY, Second City Brooklyn, and the Brooklyn Comedy Collective. AB performs weekly with ASSSSCAT, biweekly with the veteran team Duchovny, and around the city with the indie team soft. They also produce and host a monthly show “What the Hell? An Incredible Improv Show” which brings together veteran and up-and-coming improvisers to put on a damn good improv show, some might even say… an incredible improv show.
