SUMMARY:Tres Leche with Bob Dassie
DESCRIPTION:Born both out of the Los Angeles community’s desire for a new structure\, and as a way to combine elements of both grounded scene-work with game/premise-based play\, the Tres Leche Form pulls from my experience of playing with smaller groups (WeirDass\, Dasariski\, Quartet)\, different forms (Harold\, La Ronde\, Pretty Flower) and hard-hitting game/premise play (Asssscat\, Armando\, Living Room). \nThe form starts with a core 3-person scene and branches out from there into scene cycles progressively going from grounded to game/premise\, and back again\, until returning to the core scene that has moved forward in time. The form works a wide-range of muscles: challenging and wonderfully playful. \nFor intermediate to advanced improvisers. \n6 hour workshop with lunch break

DESCRIPTION:Every scene needs an initiation. And yes\, for those of us whose brains are capable of doing the quick mental gymnastics necessary to construct a perfect premise initiation on the fly\, premise initations are great. This workshop is for the rest of us. In this workshop\, we’re going to drill down to the bare bones of what initiations need\, how to properly let your scene partner know “really\, this is all I’ve got\,” and how to respond to simple initiations without wasting the first half of your scenes on politely not making big choices. Expect a lot of two person scene drills\, some gentle but loving ribbing\, and the occasional moment of Berg swearing at himself.
